STEM Salem is pleased to announce that it has received a $20,000 grant from the Pincus Family Foundation to support its efforts to expand access to engaging, high-quality STEM learning experiences for children and families in the Salem community.

The grant represents an important investment in STEM Salem’s vision of creating greater access to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education outside of the traditional classroom. Funding will help STEM Salem provide hands-on learning experiences, develop community partnerships, and connect young people and their families with STEM resources, professionals, and institutions.

“The Pincus Family Foundation’s investment in STEM Salem is an important affirmation of what we are working to accomplish in our community,” said Antoinette Stanley, STEM Salem Program Manager and Elder at Harvest-Time Worship Center. “This support helps us create opportunities for children and families to experience STEM in ways that are engaging, accessible, and connected to their community.”

STEM Salem was created in response to the need for greater access to quality STEM education and exposure to STEM careers and role models in underserved communities. Through programming such as STEM Sunday and STEM Club, the initiative uses hands-on experiences to encourage students to explore STEM concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and discover new possibilities for their future.

The Pincus Family Foundation’s support aligns closely with its commitment to partnering with nonprofit organizations that develop and enhance programs benefiting children, their families, and their communities. Education is one of the Foundation’s four primary areas of support.

“We are grateful to the Pincus Family Foundation for believing in the potential of Salem’s young people and for helping us move this vision forward,” Antoinette said. “Their support allows us to build a stronger foundation for STEM learning and create experiences that families can access right here in their own community.”

STEM Salem also recognizes the City of Salem, PSEG, and other community partners and supporters whose contributions are helping make the initiative possible.
